Enthusiast Weekend: 150 Years of the Quarry Hunslet

Saturday 10 & Sunday 11 July, 2021

9.00am - 4.00pm

In 2020 the Quarry Hunslet turned 150 years old, with the first narrow-gauge quarry Hunslet being ordered for the Dinorwic Slate Quarry of North Wales in 1870. This first design evolved over the years and the quarry Hunslets became synonymous with the slate industry of North Wales…

We know we are year late with our Birthday celebrations but with the uncertainty around the Pandemic we thought we would dedicate a whole weekend to all things Quarry Hunslet.

We have visiting Quarry Hunslets 'Lilla' & 'Britomart' from Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways which be in steam on the railway.

Also, we have a special visitor as Quarry Hunslet 'Jonathan' from the Lytham St Anne's Motive Power Museum is on display thanks to Helical Technology and the Morris family.

As well as these amazing visiting engines, we have 12 Statfold locos in steam which means they'll be an amazing 14 locomotives in steam with lots of double heading!

The garden railway will also be in operation, we have railway stalls, model layouts and 7 1/4 gauge locomotives on display!

It promises to be a fun filled day for any steam enthusiast, so don't miss out and buy your tickets now!
